An accurate evaluation of breast cancer from bioptic samples is of fundamental importance for determining appropriate therapeutic approaches, particularly in the context of neoadjuvant or metastatic disease. Our research project was designed to evaluate the degree of correlation in oestrogen receptor (ER), progesterone receptor (PR), c-erbB2/HER2, and Ki-67 expression levels. Our study, conducted at San Matteo Hospital, Pavia, Italy, between January 2014 and December 2020, comprised patients who had undergone both a biopsy and surgical resection for breast cancer. The agreement in immunohistochemistry results for ER, PR, c-erbB2, and Ki-67 was analyzed by comparing biopsy and surgical tissue samples. The current study sought to examine the relationship between early sports participation and cardiovascular risk elements in a randomized sample of community-dwelling adults.
The research sample comprised 265 adults, each at least 18 years old. Data on cardiovascular risk factors—obesity, central obesity, diabetes, dyslipidemia, and hypertension—were gathered. The retrospective self-reporting of early sports practice utilized an appropriate instrument. By means of accelerometry, the total physical activity level was evaluated. The influence of early sports practice on adulthood cardiovascular risk factors was evaluated via binary logistic regression, which controlled for variables including sex, age, socioeconomic status, and moderate-to-vigorous physical activity levels.

The metastatic cascade's transition from invasion and dormancy to proliferation is significantly influenced by the tumor microenvironment, and particularly, the extracellular matrix (ECM). The period between primary tumor detection and metastatic growth is governed by a molecular program that sustains disseminated tumor cells in a dormant, non-proliferative state, commonly known as tumor cell dormancy. Dormant cells and their niches, including their transition to a proliferative state in vivo, are being actively researched. New methods for tracking these dormant cells during their dissemination have also been developed. In this review, we explore the latest research concerning the invasive characteristics of disseminated tumor cells and their linkage to dormancy mechanisms. Sustaining dormant niches at distant sites is also examined in relation to the extracellular matrix's function.
